Sharing My Raw Thoughts: On Heterogeneity And Diversity
Sun The Pun
Hello! In this article, I want to share some raw thoughtsâ-âmy perspectives, the way I think, and yes, my opinions. They may not resonate with everyone, and that's okay.
My goal isn't to convince anyone; I just hope to spark conversation.
Whether you connect with my ideas or disagree completely, at least we can engage in dialogue.
Alphabet Logic: A Fun System, Not Philosophy
Some of you may be familiar with my Alphabet Logic system. To be clear, I wouldn't call it a philosophy.
Framing it that way might make people think, "No, I don't want that," and tune out. Instead, it's simply a playful system I use in my storiesâ-âa quirky framework that adds structure and fun.
This system reflects the whimsical side of my personality.
Some might call it "crazy" or dismiss it as meaningless in the real worldâ-âand that's fine.
It's meant to be enjoyed lightly, not analyzed as doctrine.
The Heterogeneity Principle
The main idea I want to share today is heterogeneityâ-âa concept I value deeply.
It's why I avoid same-letter pairings in names and characters. These pairings aren't necessarily wrong, but feel incompatible to me.
I'm sharing this as a personal perspective, with no offense intended.
For me, heterogeneity is about unity through oppositesâ-âbalance, contrast, and the dynamic energy that emerges when different personalities meet.
This principle shapes my storytelling: I love seeing characters with opposing traits clash, debate, and ultimately form meaningful connections.
Why I Focus on Opposites
This preference also explains why I often steer away from general high school romance tropes unless maybe if they follow alphabet logic.
I'm drawn to interactions between opposite personalities rather than characters who are too similar.
(Because I feel same-concept to be boring)
Differences create richer narratives, often leading to unexpected romance, tension, or growth.
I considered sharing this on YouTube, but I chose Medium because it allows me to explore ideas in depth without relying on visuals.
Here, I can write freely and unpack concepts that might be harder to convey on video.
Age Differences in My Stories
I also like to include a slight age difference between characters.
Personally, I find it more adventurous and enjoyable when the male protagonist is slightly older than the female lead.
It creates dynamics that feel fresh compared to the many "same-age" romances common in anime and movies.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with traditional tropesâ-âbut for me, age differences (usually within six years) add another layer of character interaction and storytelling depth.
At the end of the day, I write stories I would enjoy reading myself.
They give me a richer experience than simply following mainstream trends. And honestly if you are already a fan of same-age tropes, you have loads of them in the mainstream.
But the age gap ones are comparatively rarer so why not add some more. That's my thinking.
Though I do take inspirations from the parts I like. Creating for my own satisfaction allows me to explore ideas freely, with the possibility that others might enjoy them too.
Unity, Diversity, and Equality
There's another aspect I want to share. Despite all my quirks, I have a strong belief in unity. I want every type of person to be represented and included in my stories. Diversity isn't just an abstract idea to meâ-âit's central to the worlds I create.
That's why I write unity-themed stories. Whether it's bonding, family like dynamics, or collective goals, these themes appear consistently. I also ensure balance and equality between male and female protagonists. Neither gender overshadows the other; both play equally important roles. Equality isn't optional in my universeâ-âit's a priority.
Beyond Skin Color
I also pay careful attention to racial and cultural representation. In many media, certain groups are overrepresented while others are sidelined. In my stories, I avoid labeling characters as "black" or "white." I focus on skin toneâ-âdark or lightâ-âwithout attaching social hierarchies or stereotypes.
I strive for balance: if a male protagonist has dark skin, the female will have light skin, and vice versa.
This is reflected in the AI-generated character images I include for every story.
Even if visuals aren't the primary medium, I ensure readers can visualize characters as I intend.
At the end of the day, I am the creator and every story writers should be a creator rather than thinking about stigmas.
We are free to express our opinions with the help of stories even if it feels a bit predictable.
Non-Human Worlds and Neutral Storytelling
Many of my stories feature non-human protagonists.
Worlds like Elemental Wars include characters of different skin tones, emphasizing diversity beyond human boundaries. And well, I also have human protagonists in 2 of my stories.
Importantly, my stories contain no racism, discrimination, or caste/religion-based conflicts.
All conflicts arise from personal, social, or fantastical sources, not from inherent identity traits. This creates a neutral, inclusive experience for readers.
Equality in Roles
Both dark- and light-skinned characters receive equal priority in my narratives.
Unlike common media tropesâ-âwhere certain groups are marginalized or stereotypedâ-âmy stories ensure fairness.
There's no "sightcasting" based on race or skin tone. Everyone has a meaningful role, and both protagonists share equal narrative weight.
My Way of Thinking
I don't expect everyone to agreeâ-âand that's fine.
This is simply how my mind works, how I structure stories, and how I explore relationships and character dynamics.
By sharing these thoughts, I hope someone might resonate with my ideas, or at least enjoy a glimpse into my creative universe.
Final Words:
Heterogeneity, opposites, playful systems like Alphabet Logic, age differences, unity, diversity, and equality are central to how I write.
They guide my characters, shape their interactions, and define the worlds I create.
I wanted to share these thoughts openlyâ-âbecause even quirky ideas deserve a space to exist.
