Chapter 40: The Executioner and the Soulbinder

The battle inside the Demon Fortress raged on. As Safari faced the last remaining Demon Commander on his floor, the air grew heavy with tension. But above him, Angeleva had no intentions of wasting time.

The two Demon Commanders she faced roared with fury, their dark energy surging as they prepared a powerful combined attack.

Demon Commander 1:
"You sneaky fairy! You think your tricks will save you?!"

Demon Commander 2:
"You're outnumbered. Surrender, and maybe we'll spare you!"

But Angeleva's response was swift. She spun her fairy wand, glowing with radiant light. Her wings spread wide, shimmering in brilliant pink and gold hues. Without hesitation, she pointed her wand at the demons.

Angeleva:
"I don't play games with demons."

A sudden pulse of energy shot from her wand as she invoked her most devastating technique.

Angeleva:
"FAIRY JUSTICE BEAM!"

A colossal beam of pure light erupted, illuminating the entire chamber. It was a blinding force of justice, crashing directly into the two commanders. The demons screamed in agony as the light overwhelmed them, their monstrous forms disintegrating into ash.

The fortress shook from the sheer magnitude of the attack, leaving a massive crater in its wake. Angeleva lowered her wand, breathing heavily, but victorious.

Angeleva:
"That's two down."

Meanwhile, on the lower floor, the last Demon Commander growled, still reeling from the destruction above. He bared his fangs at Safari, his claws dripping with dark energy.

Demon Commander:
"You think I'll go down like the others?!"

Safari, undeterred, raised his massive Celestic Devil Hammer. His grin widened as sparks of energy crackled around it.

Safari:
"You're right. You're going down worse."

He slammed the hammer into the ground, causing a tremor that momentarily staggered the commander. Then, with monstrous force, Safari leapt forward.

Safari:
"DEVIL HAMMER SMASH!"

The hammer came down like a meteor, its weight amplified by Safari's immense strength. The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the fortress.

The commander's attempt to block it proved useless as the hammer shattered his defense, crushing him into the ground with a thunderous crash.

The walls cracked further. Dust and debris rained from above. The once fearsome commander lay motionless, defeated.

Ian, of course, couldn't resist.

Ian:
"And there it is! Safari big bro lands the final blow with the classic 'Devil Hammer Smash!' The commander is out! Gone! Absolutely demolished! This, my viewers, is why you don't mess with the Safari Family!"

Safari rolled his eyes, though a small smirk tugged at his lips.

Safari:
"At least you're good for morale."

The dust settled. Angeleva gracefully descended from the upper level, her wings glowing faintly from her previous attack. The two exchanged a brief glance — a subtle nod of acknowledgment.

Angeleva:
"Looks like we both cleaned up nicely."

Safari:
"Heh. Not bad, Fairy Queen."

Behind Safari, Zack, Jen, Ian, and Olive gathered, their exhaustion evident but their spirits high. Zack's healing light still flickered faintly, a testament to his tireless support.

Jen:
"That was amazing! Both of you!"

Olive:
"I didn't think it was possible to take down this many demons... But you did it."

Safari's grin softened. He clapped Olive gently on the shoulder.

Safari:
"And you were part of it. Every shot you fired counted."

Olive blinked in surprise, a rare warmth filling her chest.

Olive:
"Maybe... I guess I did."

Ian, dramatically holding his camera high, beamed with pride.

Ian:
"The Safari Family versus the Demon Commanders — victory declared! But wait! What challenges await deeper within the fortress? Will the Demon Generals finally face justice? Stay tuned, folks!"

Safari sighed.

Safari:
"You're gonna narrate our entire lives, aren't you?"

Ian:
"Absolutely."

With the commanders defeated, only one thing remained — confronting the Demon Generals.

The family braced themselves as they ventured deeper into the fortress, ready for the final battle.

The air inside the fortress grew heavier. The echoes of the crumbling walls and fallen commanders still lingered, but all eyes were now on the path ahead.

Zack, despite his exhaustion, held his glowing hands over the team. His healing light washed over Safari, Angeleva, Olive, and even Ian, mending their wounds.

Zack:
"That should be enough... I-I'm a bit tired now, but you're all okay."

Safari ruffled Zack's hair with a grin.

Safari:
"You did great, kid. But now, stay back. This next fight isn't gonna be pretty."

Angeleva: "You are a life-saver and you have done enough. Thanks a lot!"

She wrapped her wings around him giving him a sense of comfort.

Jen nodded, holding Zack's hand tightly to keep him safe. Olive gripped her futuristic gun, her hands trembling but her resolve firm. Ian, as usual, was holding his camera.

Ian:
"History in the making, folks. The final showdown — live from the fortress of nightmares!"

Suddenly, a chilling aura crept through the air. From the grand throne room ahead, two massive presences stirred.

Inside the throne room, the two Demon Generals watched everything through the cracked, cursed mirrors lining the walls. The remains of their defeated commanders flickered like echoes of their humiliation.

One of them — a towering figure with twisted, black horns and crimson scales — smirked with amusement. His eyes gleamed with sadistic pleasure.

Demon General 1:
"Sister, it seems we have guests who refuse to die."

The other, a sleek, violet-skinned demon with glowing silver hair and eerie golden eyes, grinned back. Her aura was equally monstrous.

Demon General 2:
"Brother, it's been ages since we've had opponents this entertaining. They made it this far... perhaps they deserve a little fun."

Without hesitation, they vanished in a flash of dark mist.

Safari and the others stood at the ruined gates of the throne room when the overwhelming presence arrived. The very air distorted as the two Demon Generals materialized before them.

The brother stood tall, wielding a massive dark axe pulsing with corrupted energy. His crimson aura scorched the ground beneath him.

Demon General 1:
"I am Karnath, the Executioner."

The sister, equally menacing, held a chain-like whip that crackled with violet flames. Dark energy pulsed through her veins like liquid malice.

Demon General 2:
"And I am Syltha, the Soulbinder."

They spoke in perfect unison.

Karnath and Syltha:
"You are quite obviously going to die."

The sheer force of their presence sent shivers down Olive's spine. Even Ian, as fearless as he acted, swallowed nervously.

But Safari, rather than backing down, slammed the base of his Celestic Devil Hammer on the ground. The vibration echoed with his defiance.

Safari:
"We'll see about that."

Angeleva hovered gracefully beside him, her fairy wings shimmering as she twirled her wand. Her calm gaze remained locked on Syltha.

Angeleva:
"One for you. One for me."

Safari nodded.

Safari:
"Perfect."

The Demon Generals smirked. Karnath's axe crackled, and Syltha's whip slithered like a serpent, leaving trails of violet fire.

Karnath:
"Come, warriors. Let us see how long you last."

Syltha:
"And when we're done, your souls shall be ours."

Without another word, Safari charged directly at Karnath, his hammer raised high. The ground beneath him shattered from the sheer force of his leap.

Karnath met him head-on, their weapons colliding in a monstrous clash that sent shockwaves through the fortress.

Angeleva, wasting no time, darted toward Syltha. She spun her wand in a dazzling display of fairy magic, sending radiant beams of light that Syltha effortlessly dodged with acrobatic finesse.

The violet flames from Syltha's whip lashed back in retaliation, igniting the air with ominous energy.
