Chapter 109: Balance Forged in Battle

Zozo’s tendrils whipped forward, slicing the air. Safari leapt back just in time, spinning his hammer. A surge of green and pink energy burst forth—

Fairy-Devil Hammer Explosion!

The blast severed the tendrils in a violent flash.

The demon lord sneered. “Pathetic.”

He thrust out a clawed hand, crimson beams flaring from his fingertips. Safari raised his hammer to meet them. Sparks of raw energy clashed against metal, shockwaves rattling the chamber walls.

Angeleva summoned what little strength she had left. “Safari—now!”

With a fierce cry, Safari swung downward—

Fairy-Devil Hammer Strike!

The floor cracked beneath Zozo as the hammer’s radiant dark force surged forward. But Zozo didn’t even flinch.

“Blood Abyss!”

A torrent of crimson mist erupted beneath him, devouring the blast. The mist lashed out like fangs, forcing Safari to dodge while keeping Angeleva clutched to his back.

“Too slow.”

Zozo appeared above him in an instant. His claw smashed down, slamming Safari into the wall. Stone cracked as the air left his lungs.

Angeleva cried out, the backlash ripping through her weakened body. Safari steadied himself, eyes narrowed.

“You okay?” he rasped.

Angeleva gave a faint nod. “Still… with you.”

Safari clenched his teeth. Not giving up.

While he recovered, his family moved.

Zack extended his hands, light glowing between them. “Healing Pulse!” Radiance flowed into Safari’s battered frame.

Jen tossed Zack a pouch. “Eat! Keep your strength up!”

Zack bit into a cracker, his glow intensifying.

Olive drew her blaster, firing at tendrils reaching for them. “Stay sharp!”

And Ian—ever relentless—kept filming. “Don’t stop, big bro! Show him what it means to fight with purpose!”

Zozo chuckled darkly. “Your stubbornness amuses me.”

Chains of crimson burst from the floor, snaring Angeleva’s wings.

“Let’s see how long she lasts.”

“NO!” Safari roared, lunging forward. But the chains yanked Angeleva away, searing into her flesh.

“Let her go!”

Zozo only laughed. “I’ll drain every drop of light from her.”

Angeleva’s glow dimmed, her body trembling. Safari’s fury ignited.

Memories of Gregory, Patricia, and every torment he had endured flooded his mind. His form darkened, the Sap-Green Devil Warrior’s glow twisting violently.

“Big bro!” Zack shouted. “Don’t lose yourself!”

But rage consumed him. His hammer pulsed with unstable energy.

Even so, Angeleva’s weak voice reached him. “I’m… not afraid.”

She fought against the chains, burning her hands as she tore herself free. Her wings faltered, but she forced herself forward, collapsing into Safari’s arms.

“I’m here.”

The chaotic flames dimmed. Safari’s ragged breaths steadied. Balance returned—fairy and devil in harmony.

“Never letting go,” he whispered.

Angeleva clung tighter. “Then fight—not with rage, but with purpose.”

Strength surged back into him. Safari’s hammer blazed anew.

“You’re going down, Zozo.”

Zozo snarled. “Try it, fool.”

Safari lunged, weaving past tendrils with sharp precision.

“Fairy-Devil Hammer Explode!”
“Hammer Strike!”
“Hammer Crash!”

Each blow shattered Zozo’s defenses, driving him back with crushing force.

Jen and Zack cheered below. “That’s it. Don’t stop!”

But Zozo’s body pulsed with unholy power. His form twisted into a monstrous shape, wings jagged, eyes blazing crimson.

“I am chaos incarnate!”

The air crushed down on them. Safari braced, his body trembling.

“Safari… be careful,” Angeleva whispered.

The demon lunged, his claw slamming down like a falling mountain. Safari barely rolled clear.

“Blood Rupture!”

The crimson blast hurled him across the chamber. He crashed hard, groaning.

“Pathetic.” Zozo spat.

Safari rose, battered but unbroken. Again and again he charged, but every attempt ended the same—slammed into the walls, tossed aside.

Angeleva’s voice cut through his frustration. “You’re fighting with anger and recklessness. That isn’t strength.”

“I’m not angry!”

“Yes, you are. But you’re more than that. You’re devil and fairy both. Believe it.”

Her words sank deep.

Safari closed his eyes. He thought of Zack’s support, Jen’s determination, Olive’s steady aim, Ian’s faith in the story… and Angeleva’s light, fierce and unwavering.

When he opened his eyes, his hammer shone with a new brilliance.

“I won’t fight just to destroy you, Zozo. I’ll fight for what I protect!”

Energy surged through him, refined and unstoppable.

“Devil-Fairy Beam!”
“Devil Justice Beam!”
“Devil-Fairy Barrage!”

Light and Darkness ripped through Zozo’s defenses, staggering the demon general.

Finally, Safari roared: “Devil-Fairy Radiance!”

The chamber erupted in green and pink brilliance, swallowing Zozo whole.

“That’s our brother!” Zack shouted.
“Show him what family means!” Jen cried.

Even Ian whispered in awe: “Legendary.”

Zozo’s monstrous form flickered, cracks splitting across his body.

But still he sneered. “You’ve grown… but I’m not done.”

Safari’s grip tightened on his hammer. Angeleva pressed close, her wings glowing faintly.

“Together,” she whispered.

Safari’s eyes blazed. “Let’s finish this.”
