Chapter 119: Safari and Angeleva: In Sync

Their spaceship pierced the atmosphere of Planet Satan, the oppressive darkness wrapping around it like a suffocating shroud.

The landscape stretched before them—jagged mountains, volcanoes belching smoke, and an endless twilight sky that refused to shift into day or night. But what unsettled them most wasn’t the sights—it was the stillness. Unlike the volatile chaos of other battlefields, this place held a neutral energy, neither good nor evil. The planet seemed a passive observer, unmoved by the suffering taking place upon it.

Safari and Angeleva shared a glance, faces hard with resolve. They had seen horrors before, but this was different. No dread gnawed at them, yet no comfort came either. It only meant one thing: they would need to tread carefully.

Legend’s voice echoed calmly in their ears.

“Focus on the castle. Raven’s defenses are formidable, but your synchronized attack will pierce through. Yet remember—there are prisoners inside, captives from many worlds. They must be freed. You cannot do this alone.”

Safari looked back at his family—not with worry for himself, but for them.
“God’s right. We can’t split focus. The rescue needs its own team—people who can handle themselves.”

Angeleva scanned their faces, then nodded firmly.

Zack stepped forward first, his eyes bright with resolve.
“We’ll take care of the prisoners. You two focus on Raven. We’ll have your backs.”

Safari turned to Ian.
“You’re in charge.”

Ian froze.
“M–Me? But I just take photos!”

Safari rested a firm hand on his shoulder.
“You see things others miss. That makes you perfect for this. I trust you.”

The family exchanged quick looks, then nodded.

Ian swallowed, nerves fighting against his growing resolve. “Alright… let’s save some prisoners.”

Jen stepped up beside him, her usual brightness tempered. “Then let’s get moving.” She glanced at Olive, who cracked her knuckles with a smirk.

“We’ll handle the rescue,” Olive said. “You just keep us on track.”

Safari and Angeleva gave one last look to their family, silent trust passing between them.

Legend’s voice cut in again.
“I will remain in the ship, shielding them if needed. Do not worry. Your task is Raven. Do not allow yourselves to be diverted.”

Safari and Angeleva’s eyes met once more before turning toward the looming gates of the castle. The time for hesitation was gone.

_ _ _

The castle walls towered higher with every step, jagged black stone radiating cold dread.

Demonic warriors and angels swarmed, but Safari and Angeleva carved through them like a single storm.

Every swing of Safari’s Celestic Hammer flowed into Angeleva’s radiant beams, each strike timed in perfect harmony. Enemies fell like broken shadows in their wake.

Meanwhile, Ian’s team shadowed them at a distance, moving with less speed but no less determination. When the path split into a vast grand hall lined with stone columns and ominous tapestries, the groups parted silently—Safari and Angeleva pressing onward, while Ian’s squad veered off toward their task.

Legend’s voice whispered directly into Ian’s ear, calm but urgent.
“The prison lies beneath this hall. To unlock it, you must solve the glyph puzzle here. Time is critical.”

Ian’s pulse quickened. Lives from countless worlds depended on them. He turned to Zack, Jen, and Olive—saw the same fire in their eyes—and nodded.

“Alright. Let’s do this.”

The chamber ahead pulsed with strange glyphs etched into the floor, glowing faintly. They seemed to shift as they watched, as if alive.

“These aren’t random,” Olive muttered, kneeling. “Celestial sequences… tied to time.”

Jen huffed, impatient. “So what, we guess until the floor explodes?”

Zack’s voice was calm. “No. It’s about balance. Patterns must align.”

Olive and Zack's minds were surprisingly good enough for solving the patterns as Ian couldn't help but document and Jen looked amused by their skills.

They worked fast, sweat dripping as each symbol clicked into place. Then—

CLUNK.

A stone slab rumbled open, revealing a spiral staircase plunging into darkness.

“Got it!” Ian grinned, adrenaline rushing.

Descending, the air grew damp and cold. Rust, blood, and stone stung their senses. The cries of captives echoed faintly. Iron bars lined the cavern walls, cells stretching endlessly into shadow.

But between them and the prisoners stood rows of demonic jailors, hulking beasts with burning eyes.

Jen’s breath caught. “T–Too many…”
Zack’s voice dropped. “This is suicide.”

Olive clenched her fists, but before she could speak, Ian stepped forward. His team needed him calm—so he forced a grin.

“We just need the keys. That's it.”

The others blinked.
“But how?” Olive asked.

“Stealth,” Ian whispered. “We sneak in, take the keys, free the prisoners. Quiet and fast.”

Jen swallowed hard. “And if they notice?”

“Then we improvise.” Ian’s smirk was shaky, but his eyes held resolve.

They crept into the shadows, Ian leading. For once, his camera hung at his belt, unused. His sharp eyes scanned the guards, tracking their movements. Then he saw it—keys dangling from the largest demon’s belt, right at the center of the chamber.

“There.”

It was suicide. But they had no choice.

“Jen, Olive—small distraction. Just enough.”

The two nodded, shoving a barrel across the floor.

CLANG–CLUNK–CLUNK.

The demons twitched, turning toward the sound.

“Now.”

Ian and Zack darted forward, silent as shadows. Ian’s pulse thundered. One slip, and it was over. He reached out—

CLINK.

The keys slid into his hand.

For a heartbeat, relief surged—

Then the demon froze.
“…Hnh? Who’s there?”

Ian stiffened, sweat chilling his skin.

Before the demon’s eyes locked on him, Zack hurled a loose chain across the chamber.

CRASH!

Every head turned toward the sound.

“Go!” Ian hissed.

They vanished back into the shadows. The demon scowled, muttering, “Tch… my imagination.”

Ian exhaled, grinning wildly as he held up the keys.
“Alright, guys. Let’s set them free.”

Above, Safari and Angeleva pressed deeper into the castle. Their movements were fluid, unstoppable—hammer and wand weaving devastation in unison. Yet both knew the true battle still lay ahead, waiting in the heart of Raven’s fortress.
