Angeleva couldn't hold it in anymore.
The emotions overwhelmed her.
The fear. The loneliness. The pain.
Tears spilled down her face.
And she hated it.
She hated showing weakness in front of everyone.
She was the fairy warrior.
She was a Legend Warrior.
But right now, she was just a daughter who lost her mother.
She was just a girl who didn't want to face her nightmare alone.
And she couldn't stop crying.
The place went silent.
Everyone was shocked.
They had never seen her like this.
Even Safari, who was still forcing himself to hold on, felt his heart tighten.
But then-
A few tears fell from his own eyes.
He immediately wiped them away.
But it was too late.
They had already seen it.
Safari gritted his teeth.
I'm pathetic.
He wanted to be strong.
He wanted to win.
But his hands were still shaking.
And deep down, he knew why.
He was scared.
Just like Angeleva.
And just like her-
He didn't want to face Gregory alone.
Angeleva continued to cry, shaking her head.
"I... I don't want to do this alone," she whispered.
Her voice broke.
"I don't want to fight Patricia alone."
She looked at Safari.
And in that moment, he knew-
She understood exactly how he felt.
She was scared of losing, too.
She was scared of being alone.
And somehow...
That made his own fear even worse.
Everyone stood frozen.
They wanted to help.
But what could they say?
What could they do...
...when even their strongest warriors were falling apart?
Safari clenched his fists.
He knew the truth.
If he faced Gregory, there was no guarantee he'd make it out alive.
And deep down...
That terrified him.
But what made it worse...
Was seeing Angeleva forcing herself to move.
She's scared.
Just like him.
But she was still trying to go.
Alone.
And that-
That was what hurt him the most.
Angeleva, still trembling, flapped her wings.
She tried to fly.
But-
Safari grabbed her leg.
"Don't."
She froze.
"Don't leave me like that."
Before she could react, he pulled her down-
Holding her close.
"You're scared..." he whispered.
"Just like me."
"But you're forcing yourself to go."
"I won't allow that."
He tightened his grip.
"I won't let you go like that."
"Not when you're this scared."
"Not when I'm more scared of losing you than fearing Gregory."
Angeleva's eyes widened.
And in that moment-
She realized something.
She didn't want to go alone.
She was too scared.
She had been forcing herself.
And for what?
To prove something?
To run from her fear?
She felt her legs give out.
Her wings stopped moving.
And she leaned into him.
"...I'm scared too."
She finally admitted it.
Angeleva's grip on Safari's hand tightened as she muttered softly. "I'm not scared if you're with me,"
Safari took a deep breath.
"But... it's still terrifying," he admitted.
"How lonely it feels... knowing no one from my planet is alive."
"No one to stand with me against my nightmare."
Angeleva's wings trembled.
"...I feel the same."
She swallowed.
"But more than anything... I'm afraid of dying alone."
Safari closed his eyes.
"...So am I."
Legend stepped forward.
"You won't be alone," he said, his voice strong.
"You're in this together."
The family and prisoners nodded.
"We're with you!" Zack said.
"You're not alone in this," Jen added.
Olive folded her arms. "You better survive, or I'll kill you myself."
Even Patrick and Grace spoke up.
"You two better come back," Patrick muttered.
"You have to," Grace whispered.
Safari and Angeleva felt lighter.
But the fear remained.
Angeleva's fingers trembled as she held Safari's hand.
"...Let's go," she said, trying to push forward.
But deep inside-
She was regretting something.
She bit her lip.
There was no guarantee they would make it out alive.
And if she were to die...
She wanted to go without regrets.
But there was one-
One thing she would regret forever.
Never marrying Safari.
She had not admitted it aloud.
But she was wanting that.
And now...
She'd never get the chance.
She lowered her head.
She had to bury that feeling.
But then-
Safari hesitated.
There was something on his mind too.
Something he'd regret forever.
He exhaled, then muttered.
"...I have an important business with you."
Angeleva blinked. "What?"
Safari scratched his head.
"If the situation gets worse... I'll regret not saying this."
He took a deep breath.
"There's a lot of uncertainty about us surviving against them."
"So before that battle... before we go... I want to marry you."
Silence.
Everyone froze.
Angeleva's eyes widened.
Safari looked toward the castle.
"If I don't do this now, I'll regret it forever."
"I don't want to die without this."
"At least if I die... I want to go knowing I have no regrets."
"...I know I'm selfish."
"But I can't deny it."
Angeleva stared at him.
Her face burned.
He... he just said-
The same wish she had been keeping inside.
The one she was going to take to her grave.
Safari...
Wanted it too.
She suddenly felt her legs weaken.
Her wings fluttered uncontrollably.
Her face turned deep red.
Ian, who had been recording the entire time, wiped a tear.
"This is the most emotional documentary I've ever filmed," he whispered, sniffling.
Safari's eyes widened at Angeleva's reaction.
He had expected hesitation-maybe even annoyance knowing she wanted time for that.
But instead-
Zack, Jen, Olive, and the prisoners erupted in cheers.
"Finally!!" Zack shouted.
"Didn't think he had it in him," Jen grinned.
Olive smirked. "Well, I can't say I hate this development."
Even the freed prisoners looked emotional, nodding in support.
Ian was still recording.
Tears were streaming down his face.
"This... this is the greatest documentary of all time..." he whispered dramatically.
Safari turned to Angeleva.
His heart was racing.
"...So, what do you think?"
She folded her arms.
"You're an idiot."
Safari blinked. "Huh?"
"You think this is selfish?" Angeleva asked.
Safari hesitated.
"...I mean, it is, isn't it? I'm forcing my emotions on you."
He sighed.
"If you're against it, that's fine. But at least I told you the truth."
Angeleva stared at him.
Then-
Without warning-
She grabbed his armour.
And kissed him.
Lip to lip.
Real. Deep. Honest.
No seduction.
No teasing.
No hesitation.
Just pure feelings.
Safari's entire face exploded red.
His mind blanked.
The entire surroundings fell silent.
Even Ian-who never shut up-froze mid-recording.
After a moment, Angeleva pulled back.
She looked him in the eyes.
And softly whispered-
"...You're a bigger idiot than I thought."
Safari gulped.
Angeleva exhaled.
"To think that's 'selfish' feelings..." she muttered.
She looked away.
"...I wanted this too."
Safari's breath caught.
He stared at her-completely stunned.
Angeleva wanted it too.
She...
She really-
Zack pumped his fist. "LET'S GOOOO!!"
Jen clapped her hands. "I knew it!"
Olive smirked. "That's what I thought."
Even the prisoners whistled and laughed.
And Ian?
Collapsed onto his knees, overwhelmed.
"This is... this is the peak of cinema..." he whispered.
