Gregory wiped the blood from his chin, his eyes narrowing with newfound seriousness.
"You managed to bypass our synchronization in such a short time... that's no small feat."
Patricia stepped beside him, a wicked glint returning to her eyes. "It was a miracle, really. And miracles make battles so much more entertaining."
Their dark auras surged once again, more focused than beforeânot in sync, but sharpened individually.
Gregory cracked his knuckles. "But make no mistake... that was only one of our weapons. Synchronization was the starting point."
Patricia raised her bow, a chilling wind swirling around her. "No matter how much power you've awakened... you'll never outmatch the most dominant devil of SappyâGregoryâand the most dominant fairy of Angelicaâme."
They both stepped forward, power shaking the ground beneath them.
"We're not dominant just because of flair or talk," Gregory growled. "We earned that title."
Patricia's eyes narrowed as her power surged. "Now let's show them... what full serious looks like."
In a blurâthey charged.
Gregory swung his mace, cloaked in devil energy, at Safari with ruthless speedâevery movement honed by brutal combat experience.
Patricia unleashed a flurry of fairy arrows, each laced with magical distortion, bending the battlefield around them as she aimed for Angeleva's weak points.
But Safari didn't flinch.
Angeleva didn't back down.
They moved as one againâSafari raising his Devil Hammer just in time to parry Gregory's blow, the impact shaking the air.
Angeleva spun through the arrows, her wand forming a glowing barrier before shattering it outward with Fairy Reflection Burst, blasting the arrows right back at Patricia, who had to leap away to avoid getting clipped.
Zack shouted from the sphere, wide-eyed.
"They're matching them even now!"
Tyra clenched her fist.
"This isn't about dominance. It's about heart!"
Back on the battlefieldâ
Gregory lunged again, spinning mid-air, bringing down his mace in a crushing arc.
"Devil Mace Slam!"
Safari met him head-onâ
"Devil Hammer Strike!!"
The two weapons collidedâBOOM!âa shockwave tearing through the air, causing a crater beneath them.
At the same timeâ
Patricia appeared above Angeleva, her arrows transforming into glittering shards of raw energy.
"Fairy Splinter Rain!!"
Angeleva twirled in the airâ
"Fairy Spiral Bloom!!"
The attacks collided in a dazzling storm of light and sparks, both fairies recoiling but refusing to fall.
They were going all-out. Both sides.
It wasn't just a battle of strength anymoreâ
It was a clash of ideals.
Dominance... versus Love.
After a few more exchanges...
The battlefield trembled beneath the force of clashing powers.
Safari skid back, boots scraping the scorched earth. His breathing was labored, sweat and blood mixing on his armour. Angeleva hovered above him, wings flickering with dimming light, her wand trembling in her grasp.
Gregory charged againâ
"Devil Mace Spiral!"
His mace spun like a drill, cloaked in infernal flames, barreling toward Safari with unrelenting force.
Safari grunted, raising his hammerâ
"Devil Hammer Smash!"
The weapons collided again, but this time, Gregory overpowered him, sending Safari flying back with a brutal crunch against the rocks.
"Safari!" Angeleva shouted.
But Patricia was already on her, eyes glowing with a twisted thrill.
"Fairy Implosion Ray!"
A concentrated beam of magic blasted toward Angeleva.
She tried to counterâ"Fairy Pulse!"âbut the beam tore through it, slamming into her chest and sending her spiraling through the sky, crashing hard beside Safari.
The smoke cleared. The crowd watching from the God Sphere was silent.
Ian lowered his camera, voice trembling.
"They're losing..."
Olive slammed her fist into the wall.
"No! They just started understanding each other... they can'tâ!"
Zack was crying again.
"They're trying so hard... why isn't it enough?"
Gregory stepped forward, no longer mocking, just cold.
"This is the difference between affection... and devotion."
Patricia joined him, hovering elegantly.
"You've made it farther than we expected. But your loveâit's still young. Still growing."
Their auras flared, swirling violently around them as they prepared their next assault.
Safari groaned, trying to stand.
"Angeleva... I... I can'tâ"
Her hand found his.
"You can. We can."
She looked into his eyes, voice fierce through the pain.
"This... isn't over."
And still, Gregory and Patricia came.
Angeleva's wings flared wide, shimmering with raw determination.
She gritted her teeth, lifting off just as Gregory's Devil Mace Smash came crashing down and Patricia's Exploding Arrow Barrage whistled through the air.
Below her, Safari clung to her legs, gripping tight as they surged upwardâdodging the onslaught by mere inches.
"We believe," Safari growled, his hammer humming with rekindled power.
"Always together," Angeleva whispered, gasping.
They rose higher into the air, spinning together in a graceful arc.
Patricia blinked, stunned.
"She lifted him? But he's built like a fortressâ!"
Gregory raised an eyebrow, lips curling into something oddly respectful.
"Seems like you're not the only dominant one here, Patty."
Patricia narrowed her eyes.
"No. But I am the most dominant."
And with a swift motion, she leaptâsoaring into the air as Gregory grabbed onto her legs, mimicking the exact formation.
"You think carrying that brute is impressive?" Patricia sneered.
"I've been dragging this slab of muscle through the skies since Angelica fell."
Gregory cackled from below her.
"And enjoying every second of it."
The sky lit up with energy as both pairs soared toward each other, weapons drawnâ
A storm of pink and green colliding with purple and orange.
Ian gasped.
"They're literally turning the air into a battlefield!"
Zack wiped his tears, eyes wide.
"They're... evenly matched again."
Olive nodded slowly.
"But it's not just power anymore. It's belief."
Clara clenched her fists.
"Come on, Safari. Come on, Angeleva. Show them what real love can do."
Meanwhile...
High above the shattered battlefield, Angeleva and Patricia glared at each other through the sky, both flying with determinationâeach carrying a powerhouse partner.
Angeleva's wand glowed, and with a flickâ
"Fairy Beam!"
Patricia spun mid-air, bow already drawn.
"Exploding Shot."
Her arrows met the blast, exploding on contact, lighting the sky with bursts of pink and violet.
Safari hung onto Angeleva's legs, keeping himself balanced while readying the Devil Hammer.
He growled, glancing up.
"Doing okay?"
Angeleva's voice was tight, strained.
"Barely! She's faster than expected!"
Across from them, Gregory dangled from Patricia's legs, chuckling between the turbulence.
"You're getting slow, Patty."
Patricia gritted her teeth.
"Then maybe don't hang on like a concrete boulder!"
She twisted in air, unleashing another Exploding Arrow Rain, forcing Angeleva to dip and swirl violently.
The stress began to mount.
Wings trembling. Arms shaking. Breath shortening.
Angeleva's grip on her wand slipped briefly before she caught it again.
"Too... much weight..."
Patricia, sweating, muttered,
"His armor's heavier than it looks..."
Below, both Safari and Gregory could feel the strain through the women's trembling legs.
Gregory sneered up.
"You good up there?"
Patricia huffed.
"Shut up and don't squirm!"
Their attacks became slower, messier.
Ian called out from the ground, "They can't hold that formation much longer!"
Zack watched in panic.
"If they fall nowâ"
But even with the sky growing darker and the winds growing violent...
Neither pair was willing to let go.
Not yet.
