Chapter 171: The Legacy of Safari and Angeleva

For almost a year, Safari and Angeleva traveled across galaxies—liberating planet after planet from the clutches of Raven's remaining Demon Generals. Their mission had evolved into a passionate journey—not just of redemption and justice—but of love, partnership, and purpose.

They developed a rhythm that suited them well as a married couple. For every planet they visited, they alternated who would lead the charge.

When Safari took down one Demon General, Angeleva would take the lead on the next.
When one fought, the other observed, strategized, and prepared to step in as backup if anything went wrong.
Their teamwork became legendary, with tales of their synergy spreading like wildfire across the liberated planets.

Each victory was met with gifts of food, shelter, and gratitude from the locals. Massive crates of food were loaded into their ship, and lavish banquets were thrown in their honor. People saw them not just as warriors—but as saviors, symbols of hope.

They'd spend quiet moments on peaceful planets, holding hands under starlit skies, flying together through the cosmos(Angeleva lifted Safari and soared), leaning on each other—knowing their bond was what kept them strong.

Then came the planet Clysonia.

A jungle-covered world ruled by a terrifying demon general known as Gralvok the Screamer. It was Angeleva's turn to fight, and she soared through the skies with her pink aura illuminating the forests, defeating Gralvok in a hard-fought aerial battle.

Safari, watching from the ridge, admired her movements—her grace, her precision, her power. She landed victoriously before the cheering people of Clysonia.

But just as she smiled at them, her wings flickered—and she collapsed.

"ANGELEVA!"

Safari rushed to her side, sliding down the slope and catching her just before she hit the ground. Her breathing was shallow, her skin cold.

"Help!" Safari roared to the villagers. "Get a doctor—NOW!"

The people, already in awe of her bravery and grateful for their liberation, moved quickly. An elder healer—the most respected doctor of Clysonia—was brought forward. Angeleva was carried to the healer's sanctuary deep in the jungle, while Safari paced like a storm, fury and fear radiating off him.

"If anything happens to her," he growled to the guards, "I'll burn this planet to ash."

"Please," the villagers pleaded, "we owe her everything. We won't let her die."

Hours passed.

The sky darkened. Safari sat outside the sanctuary, fists clenched, sweat dripping down his forehead, imagining every worst-case scenario.

That's when the doctor finally emerged.

"Safari," the healer said, removing their mask, "come in. You need to see this."

Without hesitation, Safari charged in.

Angeleva lay on a glowing medical bed, still unconscious but stable. Her chest rose and fell peacefully. Safari rushed to her, grabbing her hand.

"What happened to her?" he demanded. "Why did she collapse? She was fine during the fight."

The healer took a deep breath, placing a hand on Safari's shoulder. "She used too much power. Her magical reserves have been under extreme strain for months. But that's not all."

Safari narrowed his eyes. "Then what?"

"She's not just exhausted," the healer said with a faint smile. "She's... changing. Evolving. Her body is shifting to accommodate another life force."

Safari blinked.

"What are you saying?"

The healer's eyes gleamed warmly.

"She's pregnant."

Time froze.

Safari stared at Angeleva's peaceful face—his breath caught in his throat. His hammer dropped from his hands, clanking on the stone floor. He looked to the healer, then back to her.

"She's... we're..."

The doctor raised a brow, half-smiling. "To be absolutely sure... I need a hair sample. Just one."

But Safari, overwhelmed and without a second thought, ripped out a full chunk of his green hair, fistfuls of it, and shoved it forward. "Take it. Take all of it if you need. Just tell me she's okay. Tell me they're okay."

The healer blinked in surprise at the handful of green strands but quickly took them, placing them into a sleek bio-scanner laced with golden vines—Clysonian healing tech. The machine pulsed with ancient magic and advanced diagnostics. A soft whir began.

Safari stood still, holding his breath as the machine processed the data.

Then... the monitor flashed.

Two pulsating lights appeared—one pinkish-green, the other glowing greenish-pink. A twin pattern. The healer's eyes widened, nodding as he turned to Safari with certainty.

"There's no doubt," the healer said. "She's carrying twins. A boy and a girl. And the DNA confirms it—they're yours."

Safari took a step back, his jaw slack.

"Twins...?" he whispered. "Our... kids..."

He sat down slowly beside Angeleva, stunned. His hand trembled as he placed it gently over her stomach, his devil aura flickering with a strange softness he'd never shown before. There, underneath her skin, two tiny but powerful energies resonated faintly, like whispers of future greatness.

He smiled.

"We're gonna have a son and daughter... Angeleva, we're gonna be parents."

Behind him, the healer stepped back, giving him space. "She'll wake up soon. And when she does... she's going to need you more than ever. Not just as a warrior—but as a husband. And a father."

Safari nodded slowly, still staring down at her with wide, awed eyes.

For the first time in his life, the strongest devil of Sappy felt something completely new.

Hope.

After another hour, the soft golden light of the healing chamber dimmed.

Angeleva stirred, her eyelashes fluttering like feathers in a breeze. Her breathing deepened, steadying. Then... her eyes opened—dazed at first, but slowly finding focus.

The very first thing she saw was Safari, sitting beside her with both hands gently wrapped around hers, his eyes wide, misty, and locked onto her.

"Safari...?" she whispered, her voice hoarse.

"You're awake..." he breathed, unable to hold back the warmth in his voice. "You scared the hell out of me."

She tried to sit up, but Safari gently pressed her back down. "Take it easy. You've been out for hours."

Angeleva blinked, confused. "Did we... win? The demon general?"

Safari nodded with a chuckle. "Yeah. You wiped the floor with him. But then you fainted... I thought something terrible happened."

Her expression turned worried. "Am I—? Is something wrong with me?"

Safari looked into her eyes, emotion welling up in his voice. "No... no, nothing's wrong. Everything's perfect." He smiled, his voice soft and reverent.

"You're pregnant, Angeleva."

Her eyes widened. "What...?"

"And not just one," he said. "Twins. A boy and a girl. They're ours."

For a moment, the whole world stood still for her too. Angeleva reached down instinctively toward her belly, her lips parting in disbelief.

"I... we're having children...?"

Safari nodded. "Yeah. We're gonna be parents."

Tears welled up in her eyes. She didn't hide them. She let them fall, reaching up to cradle his cheek.

"We... have a future," she whispered.

He leaned into her hand, smiling. "More than just a mission. More than vengeance. We have a family now."

Outside the healing room, the people of the planet waited in hopeful silence. When they saw Safari emerge, carrying Angeleva in his arms with a peaceful smile on both their faces, the entire crowd erupted in cheers.

Safari looked down at Angeleva, still resting in his arms, her head lightly nestled against his chest. The cheers of the crowd were still echoing through the air, but Safari's tone turned serious.

"You need to rest," he said softly. "I'll handle the other planets for now. You and the twins... need to be safe."

Angeleva opened her eyes, her brows knitting. "Safari... I'm still fit to fight. You don't have to carry this alone. I can still take down demon generals. I've done it before—"

Before she could finish, the doctor stormed forward, his face stern. "Absolutely not!"

Angeleva blinked in surprise.

"I don't care how strong you are," the doctor said. "You just fainted from a massive energy surge while carrying twins. You're lucky nothing went wrong. Fighting now would be suicide—for you and your children."

Safari looked at the doctor with concern, but before he could respond, the doctor turned to him.

"And you," he said, pointing a firm finger at Safari, "don't think for a second that you're off the hook. You're the only one she trusts at this level. If you leave her now, she'll either push herself recklessly or be vulnerable when she needs you the most. Either way, it's a risk too great."

Safari clenched his fists. "But... what about the other planets? What about the people still under the rule of demon generals?"

A few of the planet's elders stepped forward, offering calm, understanding expressions. One of them placed a hand on Safari's shoulder.

"It can wait," the elder said. "Sometimes, the greatest strength a warrior can show... is knowing when to pause."

Another added, "Your presence saved our world. You've given hope to so many. But now, you must give time to your family. Or there may be no saviors left at all."

Safari looked down again at Angeleva, who was quietly staring at him, her hand over her belly. His heart tightened.

"If something happened to me while I was away," he whispered, "you'd be in more pain than anything we've faced."

Angeleva didn't argue.

She slowly reached up, fingers brushing against his jaw. "So we stay."

Safari nodded. "Yeah. We stay."

The people around them began organizing a sanctuary hut for the two—quiet, peaceful, close to the cliffs overlooking the sea of stars. Safari laid Angeleva gently onto the soft bed prepared for her.

The skies above this liberated planet were calm... and for now, so was the storm within.

Together, they would wait.

Together, they would grow.
