Chapter 10: Saving Jack's Story

Next day...

After successfully restoring Cinderella's story, the team set course for their next destination-the Jack and the Beanstalk planet. As their spaceship descended, Jim checked the tracker. Jim (murmuring): "Draven... It had to be him this time, huh?" Mike: "Wait-Draven? You mean Lord Draven? The crazy vampire warlord that you previously mentioned?" Jim nodded. Jim: "Draven's monster is made using his genes. That means it's going to be nearly impossible to take down. You two better take this seriously." Heidi (smirking): "Pfft, please. What's the worst that could happen?" The ship landed in a lush green valley, where a young boy stood in front of a small cottage. Jack. His eyes sparkled with excitement as he saw them. Jack: "Are you guys adventurers?!" Jim crossed his arms. Jim: "We're here to make sure your story goes as planned." Jack tilted his head. Jack: "Huh? Story? What do you mean?" Mike(thinking hard): "Uh... It's complicated." Jack shrugged. Jack: "Whatever! If you guys wanna help, then let's go sell my cow!" As they walked with Jack, Heidi and Mike immediately started bickering. Heidi: "Don't slow me down, weakling." Mike: "Tch, says the chef. Are you planning to cook our enemies to death?" Jim, now used to their constant fighting, simply sighed. Jim: "You two have one job: keep Jack safe and make sure his adventure happens as it should. I'm not helping in battles anymore, so don't screw this up." Mike(whispering to Jack): "By the way, does your place have some beautiful ladies?" SMACK! A frying pan hit his head. Mike: "Owchh! You didn't have to hit me so hard" Jim and Heidi(in unison): "There is no time for your nonsense!"

After a few minutes...

As they walked toward the village, Jack excitedly talked about his dream. Jack: "I wanna be the strongest warrior ever! That's why I need gold from the giant's treasure. Then I'll buy a sword and armor!" Mike (grinning): "Not a bad goal. But strength isn't just about weapons." Jack stared at Mike. Jack(chuckling): "Says the guy with the magic wand." Mike(serious): "Hey, magic takes skill!" Heidi (smirking): "Sure, sure. Skill. Let's go with that." Mike: "You wanna fight?!" Jim: "GUYS. Focus." As they reached the village, a strange figure appeared. A merchant in dark robes. He offered Jack a handful of glowing beans. Merchant (smiling slyly): "These beans hold great power, young one." Jim narrowed his eyes. His aura sensor beeped. Jim (thinking): "That's... not a normal merchant." Jack hesitated. Then- BOOM! The ground trembled as a massive dark creature emerged! A monstrous fusion of vampire genes and dark magic. Jim (grimly): "Draven's monster... So, he sent his own DNA into this fight, huh?" Mike: "Good. I was getting bored without ladies." Heidi: "Let's go!" Mike and Heidi rushed forward and transformed into Blue Magician Warrior and Yellow Chef Warrior respectively! Mike's magic fire blasts lit up the battlefield, but the monster was too fast! So, he observed its movements as he fired with precision but it dodged easily, countering with a dark shockwave that sent Mike flying! Heidi: "Ugh! You are way too overconfident in your skills!" Taking advantage of that little opening, she grabbed a metal ladle from her collection and swung it like a hammer! CRACK! The monster stumbled, momentarily stunned. Jim watched from a distance, analyzing. Jim (thinking): "Even though they argue constantly... they're actually covering each other's weaknesses." Mike got up, his aura flickering. Mike: "Alright. I will finish it all on my own." He gathered all his magic using his wand, his eyes precisely focused on the monster and unleashed a massive energy beam! The monster tried to dodge from the attack but- BOOM! It was no use as the attack hit its core even when it deviated from the attack, making it battered. But Mike collapsed de-transforming, completely drained. Heidi (shocked): "Hey! Get up, cool guy!" Jim nodded. Jim: "This is your moment, Heidi." Heidi took a deep breath and prepared a special meal using her Yellow Chef Warrior power. The moment Mike ate it- His strength surged back! Mike (stunned): "Wait... this food actually heals me?!" Jim grinned. Jim: "Told you. You two are stronger together." The monster roared, getting back up! Mike immediately transformed and locked eyes with Heidi. For the first time, they both silently agreed. Mike summoned boulders using his wand, as it spun around him. Heidi grabbed two metal pots, wielding them like gauntlets. Together- They charged! BAM! BAM! BAM! Each hit connected, their combined powers(Mike's magical power with Heidi's raw power)overwhelming the monster. With one final combined blow- boulder rampage and loud metal-pot clangs- BOOOOOM! The monster was obliterated! Jack stared, wide-eyed. Jack: "THAT WAS AWESOME!" As the dust settled, Mike and Heidi stood there, panting. Mike (acting cool): "Tch. Not bad." Heidi (smirking): "You too." Then- Mike (scowling): "Wait... Are we actually complimenting each other?!" Heidi (frowning): "Ugh. Gross." Jim chuckled. Jim: "Like it or not, you two make a great team." As they watched the beanstalk grow, they knew- Their journey was almost over. _ _ _ As the beanstalk grew, Jack eagerly climbed to the top, excited to find the giant's treasure. Mike and Heidi followed behind him, wary of any new threats. Mike (grumbling): "Of course, we have to climb a giant plant now... This is just great." Heidi (mocking with confidence): "Aw, is the mighty magician scared of heights?" Mike: "No! Just... shut up and climb!" Jim watched from the ground, arms crossed. Jim (thinking): "These two... They have potential, but their teamwork is still a mess." As they reached the top of the beanstalk, the floating land of the giants stretched before them. But just as Jack prepared to continue his journey- A massive explosion shook the ground! BOOOOM! The monster from before had followed them. Despite their earlier battle, it was still alive-and angrier than ever. Mike (gritted teeth): "You've gotta be kidding me... That thing survived?!" Heidi: "And it looks stronger than before!" The monster's aura pulsed, dark energy leaking from its body. Draven's genes had mutated it into an even more terrifying form. Jim (over the communicator): "That thing is adapting. You two better handle this fast." _ _ _ As Mike and Heidi transformed, the monster charged, its claws slashing through the air. Mike barely dodged, but a shockwave sent him flying. Heidi leapt forward, swinging a frying pan, but the monster caught it mid-air and threw her aside. Heidi (gritting teeth): "This thing is way too strong!" They couldn't go all out. The giant's floating land was fragile-one wrong move, and they could destroy everything. Mike (panting): "We need a plan-fast!" Jack, watching them struggle, hesitated. Jack: "I... I should help-" Mike and Heidi (in unison): "NO! Get to the giant's castle! Complete your story!" Jack nodded reluctantly and ran. Mike and Heidi turned back to the monster. For now, their job was simple: Distract the monster. Protect Jack. Survive. _ _ _ The monster attacked relentlessly. Mike's fire, lightning and wind spells barely scratched it. Heidi's strikes with her forks, knives and even meat cleaver despite her raw strength, weren't enough. The battle dragged on. Mike, battered, shielded Heidi from a devastating strike. Mike (weakly): "Hurry up... and cook something... I'll buy you time." Heidi (angry): "You idiot, you're barely standing!" But she knew he was right. With shaking hands, she used her warrior powers to prepare a meal. Mike gritted his teeth, standing his ground despite the pain. Then- The sky shimmered. Jack had reached the giant's castle. The story continued as intended. Jack found the treasure, outsmarted the giant, and escaped. At that moment- A golden light enveloped the battlefield. The fairy universe stabilized. The story had been saved. Heidi rushed to Mike, feeding him the restorative meal. As he ate, his wounds healed, his energy restored. Mike (blinking): "Whoa... That worked again..." He flexed his hands, feeling stronger than before. Heidi (smirking): "Told you my cooking is amazing." After having the meal, their exhaustion was gone. Only one thing remained- PAYBACK. Mike (transforming): "Alright, you oversized freak... You're DEAD." Heidi (transforming): "You made us hold back... now we're MAD." Their auras flared unnaturally. They charged at the same time, their movements emitting danger. The monster, confused, swung wildly. But this time... they were faster. Mike's lightning magic struck like meteors due to his magic getting boosted. Heidi threw kitchen knives, forks and frying pan and some more utensils, sending shockwaves through the air due to her raw power getting boosted. BAM! BAM! BAM! They didn't even look at each other in between and were purely focused on the monster. In just a few coordinated attacks- The monster was obliterated with an overwhelming strike shaking the place. Little did they know they had actually accidentally triggered Revenge mode, a hidden feature of their Orbs without knowing it, when their auras flared. As a result of previously enduring hits from the monster, their rage was building. Their respective orbs were reacting to their developing rage which activated that mode.

After a few moments...

Mike and Heidi gave a slight grin before collapsing in exhaustion, falling onto each other. Mike's head rested against Heidi's shoulder. Heidi's hand was unconsciously gripping Mike's shirt. They were laying peacefully. Jim floated up using hover boots (that he borrowed from somewhere), looking down at them. Jim (smirking): "Well... isn't this adorable?" He pulled out a small holographic camera. Jim: "This is too good to pass up." Click! He snapped a picture of them sleeping together. Jim (grinning): "An exclusive shot. Never showing them this." He carefully lifted both of them onto his shoulders and carried them back to the spaceship. As they slept peacefully, Jim just shook his head. Jim (chuckling): "They can deny it all they want... but they're a perfect match." But from a distance, a figure observed them closely muttering. "The Orb holders....they need to be eliminated."

Meanwhile inside the Vampire family's spaceship...

Draven yawned. "Can't believe my plan failed." There was a tense silence. Then- Draven (smiling): "But that makes things even more exciting. Have been waiting for a challenge." Alucard and Carmilla sneaked outside his room muttering. Carmilla: "He doesn't even feel frustrated about the loss?" Alucard grinned. "You expect him to be like you? How childish!" Carmilla rolled her eyes. "As if someone doesn't destroy their own room out of pure rage and gets it repaired more than once, just cuz they lost." Alucard clenched his fists as he muttered softly. "Well, Draven is leagues ahead of us." Draven murmured closing his eyes. "Anyways, I shouldn't be getting my hopes too high just for that. It may as well be a fluke."
