Jim clenched his fists and looked Heatsun directly in the eyes.
"Then it's time to finish this," Jim said. "We have to stop Moonsalt - not just for what she's done, but for what she's become."
Heatsun's gaze hardened, but there was a flicker of pain behind his stern expression.
"We will," he replied softly. "For you."
Edward smirked faintly. "Guess this just became a family affair."
Jim's heart raced on hearing that.
Then, after few moments, Edward's face grew stern.
"Jim," Edward said, breaking the silence, "there's something else you need to know."
Jim blinked, his heart still pounding from everything he'd just learned. "What is it?"
Edward's voice dropped slightly. "Your mother - Moonsalt - is in danger."
Heatsun's expression immediately hardened. "What?"
Jim's stomach lurched. "What do you mean she's in danger?"
Edward leaned forward, his arms crossed tightly. "I recently got intel from some of my secret spies planted aboard Dark Void's ships. They risk their lives gathering information - and what they found is serious."
He paused before continuing.
"Sunburn is planning to kill Moonsalt."
Jim's eyes widened. "What? But... why would Sunburn turn on her? They're both Dark Void commanders!"
Edward's jaw tightened. "Apparently, Sunburn sees Moonsalt as a threat to his status. Despite fighting for Dark Void, they don't trust each other - it's every commander for themselves. Sunburn views her growing power and ambition as a challenge to his authority. He wants her gone."
Heatsun's fists clenched. "But Moonsalt is on Sunburn's level - she's just as strong as him."
Edward shook his head grimly. "That's what you think, but Sunburn isn't planning a direct fight. He has a trick up his sleeve."
Jim's voice was sharp. "What trick?"
Edward's gaze darkened. "Sunburn is luring Moonsalt to an isolated planet under the guise of a 'secret mission' for Dark Void. He's setting a trap - planning to ambush her when she's alone and vulnerable."
Jim's entire body tensed.
"I'm going after her," Jim said, his voice fierce and unyielding.
Edward raised a hand. "It's dangerous. You're walking straight into Sunburn's trap."
Jim's eyes blazed. "I don't care. She's still my mother - and I'm not letting Sunburn kill her."
Heatsun, his face stone-cold, stepped forward. "I'm coming with you."
Jim looked at his father.
Heatsun's voice was low but firm. "I won't let Moonsalt die - not after everything."
Edward nodded solemnly, then reached into his pocket, pulling out a sleek, glowing device.
"These are the coordinates of Sunburn's spaceship," Edward said, handing it to Jim. "It's moving fast - but with this radar, you can track his ship."
Jim grabbed the device.
Edward continued. "Right now, Moonsalt is traveling aboard Sunburn's spaceship. If you hurry, you can tail him and reach the isolated planet before he springs his trap."
Heatsun turned to Jim. "Let's go."
Jim's voice was steady. "We're saving her."
Without another word, they both rushed out of the control room.
Inside the spaceship, Jim slid into the pilot's seat, his fingers dancing over the controls. The ship hummed to life as the radar flickered on, showing a moving blip - Sunburn's spaceship.
Heatsun sat beside him, his jaw tight with concentration.
"He's fast," Jim muttered. "But not faster than us."
Heatsun's voice was cold and sharp. "We have to catch up before they land on that planet. If Sunburn traps her there..."
Jim's fists tightened around the controls. "We won't let it happen."
The ship roared through space, following the radar's trail, closing the distance between them and Sunburn's deadly plan.
Outer Space - Near the Isolated Planet
Jim's spaceship hovered silently above the planet's atmosphere, a faint hum the only sound inside the cockpit.
The radar flickered, showing Sunburn's ship now stationary on the surface below.
Jim's green hair cast a faint reflection on the glass as he narrowed his eyes, scanning the rocky, desolate landscape of the isolated planet. No signs of life - just endless stretches of jagged terrain and swirling, dark clouds above.
Heatsun sat beside him, his face hard as stone. "We can't rush in," he said. "If this is a trap, barging in will only put us all in danger."
Jim nodded. "We watch first."
Through the high-powered scope on the ship's display, they zoomed in on the scene below.
On the Planet's Surface
Sunburn stood tall, his flame-like hair flickering even without wind, his armor glinting faintly under the pale sky. Beside him was Moonsalt - her flowing blue hair brushing past her shoulders.
Her expression was a mix of curiosity and suspicion.
"Sunburn," Moonsalt's voice echoed across the empty plains, calm yet firm, "you told me we would meet your sister here. Where is she?"
Sunburn smiled - but it wasn't friendly. It was the kind of smile a predator gives its prey just before striking.
"She's... around," Sunburn said, his voice almost too casual.
Moonsalt's icy blue eyes sharpened. "You said this meeting was urgent. That your sister had information about Dark Void's next plan."
She took a step forward. "If this is a waste of my time-"
"Oh, it's not a waste." Sunburn's smile widened.
Jim's jaw tightened as he watched from above.
"He's toying with her," Jim muttered. "She's starting to realize something's off."
Heatsun's fists were clenched. "We wait but the moment he moves, we act."
Jim didn't blink, keeping his gaze fixed on his mother.
Sunburn took slow, deliberate steps around Moonsalt, circling her like a wolf.
"You know, Moonsalt," he said, "I've always admired your... resilience. Your strength."
Moonsalt's eyes narrowed. "Enough with the flattery."
Her voice grew colder. "Where. Is. Your. Sister?"
Sunburn chuckled softly.
Then - his smile faded, replaced by a look of cruel satisfaction.
"Was she coming?"
A sharp gust of wind howled through the rocky plains as the words hung in the air.
Moonsalt's face darkened. "What?"
"This isn't a meeting..." Sunburn's voice dropped, his eyes gleaming like embers. "...it's an execution."
Jim's heart thundered.
"He's making his move!" he hissed.
Heatsun's hand hovered over the weapon controls, but Jim stopped him.
"Not yet," Jim said, his teeth gritted. "Let's see what Mom does first."
Moonsalt didn't flinch - her instincts kicked in immediately.
"You dare betray me?" she said, her voice like a frozen blade.
Sunburn's flames flared brighter. "You're a threat to me, Moonsalt. You've always been too strong - too ambitious. And I can't have you stealing my place by Dark Void's side."
He raised a hand, flames dancing at his fingertips.
"This planet will be your grave."
Moonsalt's aura rippled - a pulse of cold lunar energy crackled around her.
_ _ _
The planet's desolate surface trembled as two forces clashed - blazing solar bursts and icy lunar beams - lighting up the sky with streaks of gold and blue.
Sunburn's fiery aura flared like an untamed inferno, each step he took leaving behind molten craters. His crimson armor shimmered with the heat radiating from his body.
His Solar powers, combined with his own natural abilities, made his attacks both swift and brutal - flames that didn't just burn but exploded on impact.
Opposing him, Moonsalt stood firm, her long dark blue hair flowing. Her Lunar powers pulsed around her, freezing the ground she stepped on, creating shimmering barriers of ice to counter Sunburn's flames. She wasn't just using her powers - her own unique skills allowed her to summon crescent-shaped energy blades that cut through fire like a knife through smoke.
Their battle was fierce - neither gaining the upper hand in the first half-hour.
"Amazing power," Sunburn smirked, dodging a crescent blade that sliced a nearby rock in half. His voice was calm, almost entertained.
Moonsalt's breathing was steady but focused. "There's no guarantee who will get killed today," she said coldly, summoning a sphere of lunar energy in her hand before launching it like a meteor.
Sunburn blocked it with a wall of Solar fire, the two forces colliding and sending shockwaves across the plain.
"Oh, I'm sure of the answer," Sunburn sneered, his flames intensifying. "It's you."
Their attacks grew more vicious - Moonsalt's crescent blades became faster, and Sunburn's flames more intense - yet for every strike Moonsalt landed, Sunburn countered with equal strength. The balance of power seemed unbreakable... until time began to work against her.
