Prince Kairo, clad in ocean-forged armor and crowned by a spiral of living coral, surged across the sea with an army of Aqua Soldiers in his wake.
Waves followed in thunderous rolls behind him as he stood atop a colossal water current, eyes locked on the horizon.
Before him lay an archipelago β small, peaceful islands belonging to neutral lands.
With a silent command, Kairo raised his trident high. The skies darkened. With one sweep, a massive tidal wave responded, swallowing the first island whole.
Structures shattered, trees uprooted, and silence followed as the land vanished beneath the ocean's claim.
Kairo, expression unreadable, turned toward the next.
But before he could raise his trident again, a sickening sound slithered across the tide β a chorus of buzzing, screeching chittering that sent shivers through even the bravest Aqua warriors.
From the jungle of the next island burst a swarm of twisted insectoid creatures β clicking mandibles, gleaming carapaces, wings sharper than blades. At their center stood a tall, grotesque figure cloaked in armor made of hardened shells β General Varax of the Bug Tribe.
"You flood what does not belong to you, prince of the sea," Varax hissed, his many eyes narrowing. "Now feel the sting of resistance."
The bug swarm descended like a plague, swarming the Aqua front lines.
But Kairo didn't flinch. His soldiers struggled to fend off the infestation, their watery whips and spears cutting through waves of insects, but it wasn't enough.
With a deep breath, Kairo leapt forward, his body wrapped in a spiral of water. He surged past his struggling soldiers and soared above Varax.
"You're just in my way."
With a roar, he brought his trident down, unleashing a concentrated blast of swirling whirlpool energy straight into the swarm's center, scattering insects like leaves in a storm.
The impact cracked the ground, water surged upward, and Varax was thrown back.
The moment Varax hit the ground, soaked and stunned, Kairo landed like a crashing wave, the force of his descent sending tremors through the battlefield. The insects screeched, retreating slightly as their general struggled to rise.
But Kairo didn't give them the chance.
He moved with calm precision, summoning water from the atmosphere, the sea, even the moisture in the ground β forming slicing tendrils of pressurized streams that shot through the bug swarm like spears.
Their exoskeletons cracked under the pressure. The Aqua Soldiers, emboldened by their prince's dominance, surged forward in synchronized formations, finishing what their commander had started.
Varax coughed, rising to his feet, limbs trembling. "You... you're not like the others. You drown everything in your pathβ"
Kairo interrupted him with a sharp, cold tone. "I cleanse everything. That's all."
With a final wave of his trident, he summoned a spiraling whirlpool beneath Varax's feet. The bug general was sucked down, trapped in a spinning torrent of water before being hurled away, vanishing into the distant jungle.
Silence fell. The bugs scattered into the trees, retreating fully.
Kairo stood alone at the center, barely winded. The land, once vibrant and teeming, now bore scars of water β flooded, softened, and reshaped by force.
He turned to his soldiers, his voice echoing like rolling surf. "This was nothing. We had already drowned 2 Magma territories, 51 neutral villages, 123 islands. The territories we conquered up until now were all pure land. It's time, we head toward the Sand Tribe next. They will resist. Make sure they regret it."
The Aqua Soldiers let out a synchronized chant, and with a crash of tides, the army surged forward once more β the path to the Sand Territory now wide open, the sea prince calm and merciless.
