The Story Behind Bound by Light and Darkness

As of now, all of my fictions are published on Amazon. In this article, though, I want to talk about just one of them — Bound by Light and Darkness.

How It Began

The idea for Bound by Light and Darkness came entirely on impulse. There was no grand plan or pre-imagined scenario - just a sudden urge to create. The first thing that came to mind was two characters: Star and Aliana, a boy and a girl. It was a simple concept, almost universal in its simplicity, but it sparked the foundation for the story. From there, I explored various circumstances and themes, though many didn't initially work. What mattered most was incorporating the duality of Light and Darkness - concepts I've always been fascinated by, much like my interest in Black and White. These themes gradually became central to the story's identity.

The Creative Process

At first, I experimented with AI-generated content using ChatGPT. While it could create arcs and chapters, the results felt generic. The story existed, but it lacked the engagement and personal touch I wanted. It didn't feel like my story. So, I took the reins myself. Originally, Star was meant to represent Light and Aliana Dark - but I reversed that. Star became a boy under someone's orders, a black magician whose only skill was manipulating others. That concept immediately felt more exciting and engaging. Aliana, representing Light, was designed as his opposite - coming from a different town and worldview. Her role wasn't to rescue Star from darkness but to guide him through learning, trust, and respect. Interestingly, I still used ChatGPT to assist in writing the story - but this time, I prompted it based on the ideas forming in my mind. This approach allowed me to progress the plot while leaving room for creativity and imagination. Writing felt like a collaboration with my own story: I guided it, shaped it, and watched it come to life. A similar process had worked beautifully for Celestic Warriors. Ultimately, the story's main theme emerged naturally: it's about growth, understanding, and human connection - not just heroics. Bound By Light And Darkness Cover Image

Why I Think It’s Worth Reading

Even though Bound by Light and Darkness began on impulse, it gradually found its own emotional weight. The tone shifts as the story unfolds. The earlier chapters lean more toward a teen audience, with darker psychological elements, while the later ones settle into something more grounded and reflective — something older readers may connect with more naturally. Taken together, the chapters explore ideas of trust, control, and change. At its heart, though, the story is simple: it’s about friendship and emotion. But the way this story came together isn’t typical. It wasn’t tightly planned, and it grew during the process of creation. If you enjoy stories that unfold naturally and leave space for you to feel your way through them, this one might be worth spending some time with. And if slow-burn, psychological horror layered with emotion is something you enjoy, the opening chapters may especially draw you in. For now, I’ll leave the rest to the story itself. So, if you are curious, you can explore Bound By Light and Darkness yourself and find out.
