Chapter 70: The Arrival of the New Celestic Warriors
In the vast, crimson throne room of the Vampire Chateau, Lord Victor lounged lazily on his massive throne. The walls were lined with twisted ornaments of bloodstone, and a red mist swirled ominously through the air.
Before him, the eerie glow of a magic mirror revealed the scene of Safari and Angeleva's relentless march. Despite the endless hordes of vampires, the two fought fiercely, never losing sight of their purpose.
Victor's pale lips curled into a sinister grin. "Ah... look at them. Struggling like insects against the inevitable. How delightful."
Just then, Gregory and Patricia entered the throne room, clad in their new, ominous Celestic Warrior forms β Orange and Purple. The aura of dark power surrounding them pulsed with malice, their weapons shimmering with corrupted energy.
"Lord Victor," Patricia's voice dripped with mock respect, as she offered a bow, a sly smile tugging at her lips. "We're honored to be in your presence."
Gregory gave a curt nod, cracking his knuckles. "Though I hope this isn't another waste of time."
Victor rose from his throne, studying the two with mild amusement. "The two chosen warriors of Raven. How fitting. So, what brings you here?"
Patricia gestured toward the glowing mirror. "We came to witness the downfall of your little pests." Her eyes gleamed with malicious satisfaction. "Safari and Angeleva... pitiful, aren't they? I could end her in moments."
Gregory scoffed, tightening his grip on his newly empowered Celestic Devil Mace. "And Safari? Nothing but a fool who thinks he can stand against the will of Raven. I'd crush him like the insect he is."
But before either could act, Victor raised his hand.
"No." His voice was sharp, commanding. "This is my game. I decide when it ends."
Patricia arched a brow. "Your game?"
Victor's eyes gleamed. "I've designed these trials to break them. They will watch each other fall into despair. And once their spirits are shattered, I shall claim what remains."
Patricia sneered. "How boring. We're not interested in dragging things out. If they're not strong enough to defeat even you, they mean nothing to us."
Victor's smirk faltered. "You underestimate my strength, Celestic Warriors."
But Patricia, her curiosity piqued, raised her Celestic Fairy Bow with a dark glint in her eyes. "Shall we test that theory?"
Before Victor could react, a sudden surge of purple energy shot from her bow, striking him with force. The sheer power of it sent Victor trembling. His body shook under the weight of the attack, though he barely managed to keep standing.
Gregory laughed. "That's all it took to rattle you?" Without hesitation, he swung his mace, the weapon glowing orange with terrifying force. It struck Victor across the face, sending the Vampire Lord staggering to the side.
The throne room shook, cracks forming along the walls. Victor clenched his jaw, humiliated and furious, though the grin on Gregory's face only grew wider.
"You're pathetic," Gregory spat, his voice laced with disgust. "You're not even worth our time."
Patricia sauntered closer, running her fingers along Gregory's chest as she leaned into him. "We were only joking, of course," she purred mockingly. "But if Safari and Angeleva can't even defeat you... then they're not even worth breaking."
Victor glared but said nothing. He knew challenging Raven's chosen warriors would be a fatal mistake.
Then, with a wicked smile, Patricia aimed her bow upward.
"We're done here."
A crackling arrow of purple energy shot from her bow, shattering the throne room ceiling in a brilliant explosion. The debris fell around them, but neither flinched.
With Gregory holding onto her legs, Patricia soared through the opening, her laughter echoing through the air.
"We'll return to Raven," she called back. "This place was a waste of time."
Victor stood among the ruins of his throne room, his jaw clenched in seething anger.
But even through his humiliation, the dark amusement returned to his eyes.
"Let them gloat," he whispered. "Safari and Angeleva will still fall. And when they do, the shadows will consume them all."
Back To The Group...
The deeper the group went, the heavier the atmosphere became. The shadows twisted unnaturally, and the ground beneath their feet felt like it pulsed with a sinister heartbeat. The echoing cries of Zack and Jen reverberated through the abyss, sending chills down the spines of Ian and Olive.
"Zack! Jen!" Ian shouted, his voice breaking through the void. "Where are you?"
But the cries never ceased. They twisted and warped, coming from every direction β some near, some impossibly far. Olive gritted her teeth, trembling.
"They're playing with us," she said softly. "The vampires... they're leading us into a trap."
Still, Ian's desperation grew. "We have to find them! We can't just stand here!" He frantically searched the shadows for any sign of them.
Safari clenched his fists. "Split up. We'll cover more ground. If anyone finds them, yell."
Just as they were about to scatter, Angeleva swiftly extended her pink wings, blocking their path.
"Stop!" Her voice was commanding, but not harsh. Her wings gleamed in the dim light, their radiant glow momentarily pushing back the darkness. "That's exactly what the vampires want. They're trying to isolate us."
Ian froze, his breathing ragged. "But we don't have time! What if they'reβ"
"Alive," Angeleva interrupted, her violet eyes filled with determination. "They're alive. I can still sense them."
Safari turned to her, his gaze questioning. "You can sense them?"
She nodded. "Faintly. Their auras are struggling, but they're holding on. Both of them are trapped within the chambers beneath us."
Olive's heart sank. "Beneath us? Then how do we get to them?"
Angeleva's wings fluttered, glowing brighter as she spoke. "We can't enter those chambers directly. The darkness will only pull us in, and we'll be trapped like they are."
Safari's fists tightened. "So what do we do?"
Angeleva stepped forward, her wings curling protectively around the group. "We connect them."
The words hung heavily in the air.
Ian blinked. "Connect... their chambers?"
"Yes," she said. "The chambers are designed to torment them using their deepest fears. But if we can create a link between Zack and Jen, their bond may overpower the illusions. They're stronger together."
Safari nodded slowly. "Then we'll do it. But how?"
Angeleva took a deep breath, her radiant aura intensifying.
"You all need to stay close. If I'm to reach their minds, I'll need your strength. Our unity will serve as the bridge."
She stepped closer, her soft glow illuminating the shadows around them. Carefully, she spread her elegant wings wide before gently wrapping them around Ian and Olive. The warmth from her feathers brought a strange sense of calm. Ian, despite his usual bravado, felt his heart steady. Olive, still trembling slightly, leaned into him, clutching his arm.
"It's... warm," Olive whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Yeah," Ian mumbled, trying to hide his own trembling hands. "But we're not exactly used to being hugged by a glowing fairy."
Angeleva smiled softly, though her focus remained sharp. "You'll get used to it."
Just outside the protective embrace, Safari stood firmly. His gaze remained cautious, but even he couldn't deny the soothing effect of Angeleva's presence. However, unlike the others, he chose to keep his distance. With a slight shift, he extended his arm and carefully placed his hand on Angeleva's shoulder.
The warmth from her radiance spread to him, but Safari kept his composure.
He avoided further contact, his mind unwilling to linger on the closeness. Though they had fought side by side, he wasn't comfortable with this kind of intimate connection. Yet, for the sake of his family, he stood strong.
"I'm here," Safari said simply, his voice firm. "We all are."
Angeleva nodded, her violet eyes glowing with determination. "That's all I need."
A pulse of light began to radiate from her wings, spreading in a steady, rhythmic beat. It was like the heartbeat of the abyss had been silenced, replaced by the steady hum of her power. The warmth around Ian and Olive deepened, and even Safari could feel the energy vibrating through his hand.
"Close your eyes," Angeleva instructed softly. "Focus on them. On Zack. On Jen. Remember their voices, their laughter, their smiles."
Olive shut her eyes, clutching Ian tighter. She thought of Zack's playful grin, the way he always tried to act tough but melted under a little kindness. She thought of Jen's stubbornness, her fierce loyalty, and how she tried to act like an older sister to them all.
Ian squeezed his eyes shut, recalling the countless memories they'd built together. Zack's constant curiosity and admiration for Safari, the way Jen always stood up for him, even when he went too far with his antics. He remembered the way they embraced, the laughter, the arguments β they were family.
Safari's thoughts were silent, but the weight of his presence was undeniable. He saw Zack's determination, Jen's resilience. He refused to believe the shadows had consumed them.
"I've got you," he whispered under his breath. "We've got you."
Angeleva's light flared brighter. The warmth grew, not just from her wings but from the collective force of their memories.
"Hold on," she murmured, her voice a gentle echo. "Zack... Jen... we're coming."
The connection ignited. A golden thread of energy surged through the abyss, winding its way through the darkness. It searched, cutting through the twisted illusions that bound Zack and Jen. The chambers trembled, and for a brief moment, the cries of fear and pain that echoed through the abyss began to falter.
Angeleva's wings tightened protectively, her voice echoing with a determined strength.
"Find each other. Break free. You're not alone."
The bridge had been built. Now, it was up to Zack and Jen to reach for it.
