Chapter 144: Love Beyond Limits

Gregory and Patricia sat sprawled across Raven’s throne, their eyes gleaming with triumph.

Gregory leaned back lazily, one arm draped over the throne’s side, while Patricia curled against him, tracing circles on his chest with a single finger.

“We really did it,” Gregory muttered, his gaze sweeping the grand hall of Raven’s castle.

“All of Raven’s planets… plus the ones we already conquered,” Patricia whispered, her lips curling into a cruel smirk.

Her eyes lit with sadistic anticipation as she turned toward him.
“That means we have a big playground now.”

“A massive playground,” Gregory corrected, grinning darkly.

“We can torture as many weaklings as we want,” Patricia sighed, resting her head on his shoulder.

“And no one…” Gregory added, his voice dripping with amusement, “can stop us.”

Patricia let out a mock sigh of pleasure.
“Imagine it, Greg—an entire universe trembling at our feet.”

Her fingers trailed along his armored chest as her half-lidded eyes glimmered with satisfaction.

“We should start expanding,” Gregory said, ambition sharpening his tone.
“Conquer more planets. Grow our forces. Prove our dominance.”

Patricia’s wicked smile widened.
“Oh, I like that.”

Her gaze flickered to the trembling remnants of Raven’s once-mighty army. Thousands of demons and angels stood in the great hall—some kneeling in submission, others frozen with fear.

“Look at them,” Patricia said, tilting her head in amusement.
“So pathetic. So… spineless.”

Gregory chuckled, rising from the throne and resting his mace across his shoulder.
“We should give them a choice.”

He swept his eyes across the army.
“Serve us…” His voice was casual, almost bored.
“Or leave. But if you even try to resist—”

He shrugged, lips curling into a mock sigh.
“—I could use a good warm-up.”

The demons flinched. They knew what that meant. None who had ever challenged Gregory had lived to tell the tale.

Patricia leaned forward, her smirk playful but her tone dripping venom.
“Oh, don’t be shy. We love loyalty.”

One by one, the demons broke. They knelt, heads bowed in fear and submission.

“That’s more like it,” Gregory muttered, satisfied.

Patricia giggled as she joined him, sliding to his side.
“We’ll be feared across the entire universe, Greg.”

Gregory’s grin widened.
“No, Patty. We’ll own the entire universe.”

Their laughter echoed through the throne room.
A new era of terror had begun.

Meanwhile, in Hellsgate, God Legend watched from his God Sphere. His expression was calm… until his eyes widened.

Something was wrong.

His grip tightened on his staff.
“This…”

For the first time in centuries, Legend was stunned.

He shut the God Sphere abruptly, turning his gaze back toward Safari and Angeleva.

“This isn’t the time for distractions,” he muttered, fists clenching.
There was something more urgent.

Far more urgent.

Back in Raven’s throne room, Gregory rose with his mace slung across his shoulder, his booming voice shaking the chamber.

“Spread out.”

The demons flinched, snapping to attention.

“Go to every planet we’ve conquered. Crush resistance. Make it clear…” His lips twisted into a cruel grin.
“There’s a new order now.”

They bowed quickly, too afraid to question him.

Patricia lifted her bow with a playful giggle.
WHIZZ—

An arrow landed inches from a demon’s foot. He stumbled in terror.

THUNK—

Another shot grazed the wings of one of the angels.

Patricia pouted, feigning innocence.
“Come on, don’t look so scared~” Her eyes glowed with sadism.
“From now on, you’ll all help us conquer more worlds.”

Her smile deepened as she turned to the angel army, still shaken by Raven’s fall.
“I’ll lead the angels.”

Gregory raised an eyebrow.
“Then I’ll lead the demons.”

Patricia’s mischievous smirk returned.
“Wait… that’s unnecessary.”

She twirled her hair, stepping close.
“You’re a devil. I’m a fairy. Why split them?”

Gregory paused, intrigued.

Patricia’s voice dropped lower, more dangerous.
“We rule together. That means our armies are one.”

Gregory’s grin returned as he cupped her chin.
“The only one I’d ever share the throne with… is you.”

Patricia chuckled, looping her arms around his neck.
“Oh, Greg~” she whispered sweetly, before her smile turned devilish.
“Then we rule together. As an unstoppable duo.”

Gregory’s laugh boomed as he pulled her tight.
“Then let’s make the whole universe fear us.”

Their laughter thundered through the halls as the combined demon–angel army marched out, spreading their reign of terror across the conquered worlds.

Back in Hellsgate, Angeleva sat on the cold stone floor, her wings trembling. Poison burned through her veins from Patricia’s arrows, yet her arms clung tightly to Safari’s battered body. His pale face rested in her lap, his breath shallow.

The family stood in silence, grief heavy in their eyes.

“She carried him even in this condition…” Zack whispered, fists clenched.

Ian’s camera hung loosely at his side.
“She… she shouldn’t have been able to…”

Even Legend, always composed, looked shaken. His gaze lingered on the fragile fairy who had carried someone four times her size—poisoned, exhausted, and wounded.

“This shouldn’t be possible,” he murmured.

Fairies had limits. At most, they could lift two or three times their weight. But Angeleva had done the impossible.

“She’s… different,” Legend whispered.

Zack’s voice broke the silence.
“She’s done it before.”

Legend turned sharply.
“What?”

“Back when they fought Lucifero,” Zack said, his eyes shadowed.
“She carried big bro then, too. A miracle even back then. But now… she’s done it again, under worse conditions.”

Legend’s eyes widened as realization struck.
“A normal fairy could never…” His voice dropped to a breath.
“She is of royal blood.”

Olive’s voice chimed in, almost matter-of-fact.
“Yeah! She ruled her planet, Angelica. Just like Safari ruled Sappy.”

Legend nodded slowly.
“I see. Both rulers of their worlds… it explains why they are Legend Warriors.”

But Angeleva wasn’t listening. Her trembling fingers stroked Safari’s bloodied hair, her tears falling silently.

“Big sis…” Zack’s voice was urgent now.
“You need to heal. I can remove the poison—I’ve trained for this—”

“SHUT UP!” she snapped.

Zack flinched.

Her tear-streaked face twisted with despair as she shook Safari’s limp body.
“Wake up, you idiot!”

No response.

Her wings sagged. Her heart pounded painfully.
“How… how could you do this to me?”

Her voice broke, and the words slipped free.
“Damn it… you made me fall in love with you!”

The family froze. Even Legend’s breath caught.

But Angeleva didn’t stop.
“I don’t care that you’re a devil and I’m a fairy! I don’t care what anyone says!”

She clutched him tighter, sobbing.
“You have to live! Even if you never love me back—just… don’t leave me!”

Her body gave out. With a soft gasp, she collapsed beside him, wings faltering, arms loosening.

“Angeleva!” Zack lunged forward.

Safari’s fingers twitched. He had barely heard her words. But he couldn’t move. He was fading.

Zack clenched his teeth, pressing glowing hands to Safari’s chest.
“Don’t you dare die on her!”

Light spilled from his palms, seeping into Safari’s battered body, barely keeping him tethered to life.

Then he turned to Angeleva. Her breath was shallow, poison ravaging her veins.
“Hang on!”

He poured energy into her as well, the glow wrapping her frame as he fought to purge the venom.

The family watched in silence.

Legend closed his eyes, murmuring low.
“Too many miracles in one day…”
