Chapter 5: The Curse of Soluna

Fifteen years had passed since the abduction and subsequent rescue.

Tim, now 25 stood atop a sun-scorched plateau on Soluna, the wind carrying traces of both Solar and Lunar energy - a constant reminder of the planet's cursed unity.

His once bright and carefree nature had hardened, forged by years of relentless training under Heatsun's unforgiving methods.

Heatsun was a warrior of few words, his every lesson a brutal test of strength and endurance. To wield the power of the sun, Tim had to endure its wrath - training in blazing deserts, mastering Solar strikes while withstanding searing heat.

Henry and Marie, Heatsun's loyal assistants, often watched from the sidelines, their roles less about comfort and more about enforcing their mentor's harsh discipline.

"Again," Heatsun ordered, arms crossed, his golden armor glinting under the Solunian sun.

Tim gritted his teeth, summoning his Solar energy.

His body radiated with a golden aura as he unleashed a Solar Slash, a slice of concentrated Solar energy. It scorched the rocky terrain ahead, leaving a smoldering crater.

But Heatsun didn't flinch.

"Too slow."

"Too weak."

"If you hesitate against Dark Void's forces... you're already dead."

Tim clenched his fists, frustration bubbling inside him.

This was his life now, an endless struggle to grow stronger, to prove himself worthy of his title as the Solar Warrior.

Still... there were nights when Tim couldn't shake the feeling that something - or someone - was missing. A faint ache in his heart, like a memory just out of reach.

But besides all that, the planet Soluna had an unbelievable ancient history which echoed through the people's blood - a story passed down in every home, etched into the stars above...

The History of Soluna

Two thousand years ago, the Solar and Lunar people were sworn enemies, locked in an endless war over the planet Soluna - a massive world that served as the border between their two home planets, Sola and Luna. The Solar people, with their radiant yellow hair, hailed from the blazing planet of Sola, a world of heat and light resembling the sun. The Lunar people, marked by their flowing blue hair, came from the serene and cold planet of Luna, a realm resembling the moon. Despite their differences, both sides shared a fierce desire: to conquer Soluna and claim it as their own. The battles were brutal. Soluna, larger than Sola and Luna combined, became a bloodstained battlefield, its skies split between burning flares and freezing storms. The land bore the scars of their relentless conflict - scorched deserts created by Solar blasts, frozen wastelands from Lunar strikes, and lifeless craters marking each hard-fought clash. For centuries, the war raged on, with neither side willing to yield. Hatred was deeply rooted - the Solar people saw the Lunars as cold-hearted and deceitful, while the Lunars viewed the Solars as arrogant and destructive. The planet Soluna, once a symbol of untapped potential, was reduced to a dying world caught between the flames and the frost. Then, in a moment of divine reckoning, the Solunar God, Solarae, emerged from the heart of Soluna. Towering and radiant, Solarae was a being of balance, embodying both Solar and Lunar energy - light and shadow entwined. The god's fury was absolute. As punishment for their reckless war, Solarae placed a curse upon both tribes: Solar males could only produce offspring with Lunar females, and Lunar males could only have children with Solar females. Their survival now depended not on war, but on cooperation - an unbreakable bond of necessity forged through divine intervention. To ensure they could no longer retreat to their home planets, Solarae destroyed Sola and Luna, reducing them to lifeless, barren worlds. Solarae declared that their only path forward was to rebuild Soluna together - or perish in their stubbornness. At first, the curse only deepened the divide, with both tribes blaming each other for the wrath of their god. But as generations passed, the reality of their dependence became undeniable. Slowly but steadily, conflict gave way to an uneasy truce. Over time, discrimination began to fade, as Solar and Lunar people started building families together. Their children, born of both light and dark, were seen as living symbols of Solarae's curse - and of the fragile unity it enforced. Birth among the Soluna people became a unique phenomenon: Sometimes, parents would have Solar-Lunar twins - one child with Solar traits and the other with Lunar traits, born together as a direct reflection of their blended heritage. Other times, a single Solar or Lunar child would be born - but it was said that their "other half" would come into the world 1 to 4 years later, as if the curse itself wove their fates together, even across time. Now, in the present era, Soluna remains a planet of balance - a world forever shaped by the sins of its past and the curse of its god. While old tensions still linger beneath the surface, the days of open war are long gone. The Solar and Lunar people may not fully embrace each other, but they have learned - by force or by choice - that survival means coexistence.
