Chapter 152: Love in the Midst of Chaos
They sat in that shared confession for a moment, not celebrating, not relievedâjust burdened.
This wasn't a normal love.
Angeleva spoke next, her voice laced with doubt.
"But Safari... this is complicated. We're in a place where this kind of love has never existed before."
Safari let out a bitter chuckle. "You think I don't know that?"
He stared at the ground, then at his handsâhands that had taken countless lives, hands meant for war, not love.
"I can defeat warriors, demon generals even face Raven without fear. But this... I can't fight what I feel inside. It's tougher than any battle I've ever fought."
Angeleva nodded, understanding exactly what he meant.
"Same for me..." she admitted.
A fairy and a devilâtwo beings never meant to love each other.
Not even meant to work side by side.
Safari turned to her, his eyes filled with emotions he rarely showedâuncertainty, pain, longing.
Without thinking, he reached for her hand.
"If this is truly forbidden... if this is truly a sin... then I have to fight it."
Angeleva squeezed his hand in return.
"You're not the only sinner, Safari. If it's a crime to feel this way, then I'm guilty too."
They sat there, holding each other's hands, silent but deeply connected.
They had no answers.
No clear path forward.
But at least, for the first time... they had admitted the truth.
They sat in a rare moment of peace, feeling relieved yet uncertain. For the first time, they had spoken their true feelings aloud.
Neither of them noticed that Legend had been listening the entire time.
After a few minutes, he finally stepped forward, making his presence known.
"It is never a sin to fall in love."
Safari and Angeleva immediately turned to him, startled.
Legend continued, his voice calm but firm.
"It doesn't matter if you're a devil or a fairy, a demon or an angel. Love is not bound by race or rules. The only thing that matters is that both sides agree to it."
Safari frowned. "But devils and fairies were never meant to bond, let alone fall in love. This is a lost cause."
Legend sighed, shaking his head.
"That's where you're wrong."
Safari and Angeleva looked at him, confused.
"It has never been said that a devil and a fairy cannot fall in love." Legend explained. "It simply never happened before."
Angeleva's wings twitched. "Then why does it feel like we're doing something wrong?"
Legend crossed his arms.
"Because the universe won't see it in a good way. You two are a rare case. People will judge, reject, and criticize you. But if that alone is enough to break your will, then your love isn't strong enough to survive anyway."
Safari clenched his fists.
"So you're saying that if we truly love each other, we should stand our groundâno matter what others think?"
Legend nodded.
"That's exactly what I'm saying."
He then gave them one final look before turning away.
"I have nothing more to say. The choice is yours."
Safari and Angeleva sat there in deep thought, the weight of Legend's words sinking in.
The next day, they tried to act normal, as if nothing had happened.
They talked casually and sparred like usual.
Ian and the others didn't interfere.
For once, Ian didn't shove his camera in their faces. Zack, Jen, and Olive kept their distance. Even the prisoners, who were originally invested in their love story, decided to let them be.
Patrick and Grace, however, had zero faith in them.
"They're hopeless," Patrick muttered, watching Safari and Angeleva pretend like nothing was different.
Grace sighed. "At this rate, they'll just go back to square one."
Still, they didn't push it.
Days passed, and in that time, Safari and Angeleva interacted more freely with everyone.
They trained with Tyra, Rojo, Gorin, Fuga, Clara and Blaine, learning more about their past battles.
Safari shared combat strategies with Waker and Darry.
Angeleva helped heal minor injuries among the prisoners, proving her fairy powers wasn't just for battle.
They both spent more time with the family.
They were growing closer to the group, becoming comfortable in their environment.
But despite their efforts to act normal, something between them had already changed.
Even though they weren't openly admitting it, their bond was undeniably deeper than before.
Everyone had come to respect Safari and Angeleva.
The prisoners, who once only saw them as warriors, now admired them as individuals. Even Ian, who was originally obsessed with their romance for his documentary, had backed off, waiting to see how things would unfold naturally.
That night, beneath a quiet sky filled with stars, Safari and Angeleva finally spoke about their feelings.
"If what Legend said was true," Safari muttered, staring up at the sky, "then it's not a sin to fall in love."
Angeleva, sitting beside him, gave a small smile. "At least we aren't committing a crime, then."
Safari exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. "No matter how much I try to suppress it, I can't anymore."
He turned to her, his eyes serious.
"I want to confess to everyone. I love you."
Angeleva's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly smirked. "As if I don't?"
They both laughed softly, the tension melting between them.
But Angeleva then sighed, looking down. "Even if we accept this, not everyone will. Many people will see this... in a bad way."
Safari grinned, his expression turning cocky. "As if that matters. If you're willing to endure humiliation for this... then I'll endure double."
He leaned closer, a challenging glint in his eyes. "I'll prove who's better at handling it."
Angeleva rolled her eyes but smiled. "You just turned this into a competition, didn't you?"
Safari crossed his arms. "Obviously. That's what I do."
Angeleva shook her head, but her heart felt lighter.
"Fine. Let's see who handles it better."
That night, they made their decision.
No more suppressing their feelings.
No more running away.
Tomorrow, they would face everyoneâtogether.
_ _ _
The next morning, everyone had gathered, curious about why Safari and Angeleva called them.
Safari and Angeleva stood side by side, tense but determined. They had agreed to confess their feelings, but... neither wanted to lose to the other.
Safari crossed his arms and smirked. "I'll say it first. I loveâ"
Angeleva cut him off. "No way! I'm not losing. I loveâ"
Safari narrowed his eyes. "You interrupted me."
"You interrupted me first," Angeleva shot back.
The audienceâSafari's crew, the prisoners, and even Legendâwatched in disbelief as their confession turned into an argument.
"You should've let me speak first!" Safari argued.
"Why? Because you're a devil? Typical!" Angeleva huffed.
"Oh, so fairies always go first? I don't think so!"
Ian facepalmed. "Are they seriously fighting about this?"
Patrick sighed. "They are completely hopeless."
Grace smirked. "Actually, this is pretty entertaining."
Legend, who had been watching quietly, sighed deeply.
"Just say it already."
After another long stare-down, Safari and Angeleva gritted their teeth, clenched their fists, andâ
Together, they shouted: "I LOVE YOU!"
Silence.
Everyone stared.
Then, Olive burst into laughter. Zack cheered. Jen clapped excitedly. The prisoners whistled and shouted congratulations. Even Legend smirked in amusement.
Ian, of course, filmed everything.
Safari and Angeleva, finally realizing what they had just done, turned red.
Safari groaned, covering his face. "I can't believe we just yelled that."
Angeleva buried her face in her hands. "That was so embarrassing."
Patrick patted their backs. "Welcome to the world of public confessions."
Grace grinned. "You two really are a pair of idiots... but congrats."
Despite their embarrassment, Safari and Angeleva felt lighter.
Safari smiled softly and pulled Angeleva into a warm embrace, holding her close to his chest.
Angeleva, feeling the warmth of his arms, instinctively wrapped her delicate wings around him. Her voice barely above a whisper, she murmured, "I'm still not losing, you know."
Safari chuckled. "We'll see about that."
At that exact momentâclick! click! click!âIan's camera flashed repeatedly.
"YES! This is it! The greatest romance ever! This is history in the making!" Ian shouted, bouncing excitedly.
The entire groupâSafari's family, the prisoners, and even the usually reserved warriorsâburst into cheers.
Tyra, Rojo, Fuga and Blaine whistled. Zack and Jen clapped excitedly. Patrick and Grace grinned at each other, feeling a strange sense of déjà vu.
And thenâto everyone's surpriseâGod Legend, the mighty deity who had seen countless wars and tragedies, had tears in his eyes.
"This..." Legend muttered, his voice uncharacteristically soft. "This is what true courage looks like."
The moment was beautiful, powerfulâdefying centuries of division between fairies and devils.
Then, the group spoke as one.
"Safari. Angeleva."
They turned to face their friends and allies.
"Even if the universe stands against you, we will always support you."
Safari and Angeleva felt their hearts swell. They had been prepared to face the world alone... but they wouldn't have to.
Because this was their family.
And their loveâa love never meant to existâhad found a home among them.
